This set consists of all nine (9) oversize 2.2” (56mm) sanding discs from 80 to 1200 grit, as well as a medium and soft backing H&L pad (SKU 10063 & SKU 10064). If you own a Merlin2 grinder, but not the Signature Series accessories, this is a very convenient and affordable set to add to your arsenal of finishing accessories. As a spare or replacement set, it offers peace of mind to keep them on hand as you progress through the grits to complete your projects.  

Made from Indasa Rhynogrip Redline sandpaper, Nick Agar recommended, then personally tested and approved the nine (9) grit graduations of these H&L sanding discs. We investigated, tested and agreed with the features listed below – and didn’t ignore this woodturning rock star’s advice!

With oversize discs, a useful tip is to:

1. Place the selected disc face down on a flat surface
2. Using both hands for this part, get hold of the body of Merlin2® and eyeball the backing pad to center over the sanding disc
3. Press the backing pad onto the disc and
4. You should successfully have secured the disc so that about 1/8” (3mm) protrudes beyond the edge of the backing pad.
5. This saves the somewhat frustrating experience of free handedly securing and centering the disc onto the backing pad while holding the grinder in your hand. You could be attempting this several times before getting it right.
