Overview
Model: 11357
This is the replacement bulb for SKU 11351 Inflatable Drum Sander. There will be occasions when you may need to replace the bulb. The most common examples are listed here.
- Sometimes when the flange or nut comes in contact with the rubber, if old, the rubber may crack and no longer hold air.
- The bulb could also puncture if you’re sanding and hit a splinter.
- When you believe the sander no longer holds air but cannot pinpoint the source, we recommend you inflate the bulb full of air and submerge it in a basin/receptacle of water. If a puncture, the bubbles will show the source of the leak.
- If bubbles are coming through the hollow shaft, dust has collected between the rubber tube or collar (yellow) that covers the air hole on the metal shaft inside the drum sander bulb. Generally, this is the simple remedy without having to replace the bulb.
-
- The shaft is in two parts, and is joined together by the rubber tube. To clean any dust, remove the bulb, gently rinse with water, dry and lay aside.
- Roll back half (½) of the rubber tube in the middle of the shaft, which simultaneously splits the shaft in two.
- With two halves of the shaft, one half (½) will have the rolled back rubber tube and one will not. Rinse the exposed rolled tube and both halves of the shaft gently with water.
- Bring the half (½) shaft middles together and roll the tube back over the middle of the other half (½) shaft, which makes it a straight shaft again.
- Then roll back the other unwashed half (½) of the rubber tube over the second half (½) shaft, which splits the shaft again.
- Clean the newly exposed half (½) rubber tube, then bring the two (2) shaft halves together and roll the rubber tube to make it a single shaft.
- Attach the bulb. To do a final test for leaks or punctures, fill the bulb full of air and submerge it in a basin/receptacle of water.
