I received my Merlin hoof trimmer last Saturday and picked it up for the first time last night. I am a 60 yr old woman with a terrible back and 8 horses. All of my farriers have seemed to move on to other trades so I got a GE nipper, rasp, hoof pick and hoof jack. I’d been watching my latest farrier (barefoot trimming( for a year and had a pretty good idea of how to get the job done. I could do it in my head, but WOW is it hard on my back and legs!! Took me about 45 mins to do one horse. Last night I pulled one of our Arabs out and tried the Merlin for the first time. I didn’t even try it on wood first. I don’t have enough great things to say about this tool! I finished the horse in less than 15 mins and my back wasn’t sore, and I barely broke a sweat! I’ve had this tool invented in my head for over a year…..figured there HAD to be a more sophisticated and modern way to trim a horse. YOU have DONE IT! I am an amateur and had NO TROUBLE whatsoever with this tool. Glides across the hoof like glass~ Just INCREDIBLE!!!!! Wish I could leave this on your site but didn’t find a way to do so unless you “signed in” and I have no idea how to set up an account TO sign in. But I HAD to take the time to let you know how much this tool means to me. God bless the inventor, and all who have anything to do with this fantastic tool! THANKS!

Renowned Chip Carving Artisan and Pioneer Presents ‘Royal Charter’ to King Arthur’s Tools.

SEE Original Press Release by MarketDone

World renowned author of 7 best selling books on chip carving, founder of the Alpine School of Woodworking, Ltd, visiting artist/lecturer at the Chicago Art Institute and driving force of the wood and chip carving renaissance in North America over the past quarter century Wayne Barton presented a handcrafted ‘Royal Charter’ to Arthur and Pamela Aveling of King Arthur’s Tools, at a celebration on March 15th.

This unique ‘Royal Charter’ is the official proclamation of the guiding principles that King Arthur’s Tools operates by and reflects their attitude about doing business in general. Says Arthur “Only Sir Wayne Barton, as we call him in the Kingdom, could handcraft our values into a creative masterpiece utilizing the intricate and beautiful art of chip carving. We are so fortunate this talented genius is coming here!”

In addition to the carving presentation, 2 day Beginner’s Chip Carving Class was held on March 17th and 18th at Camelot’s Woodworking Studio, emphasizing technique for those with little or no carving experience. The class focuses on the basics of chip carving, executing essential patterns and designs, with emphasis on how to create borders, grids, rosettes, lettering and free form ideas.
